Mill Valley Real Estate

If you’re looking to relocate to a charming small town with a rustic feel in the Bay Area, Mill Valley may be the place for you. Located at the foothills of Mount Tamalpais, this is the perfect community in which to escape the chaos of city life. Still, San Francisco is only 14 miles to the south, and residents have quick access to Highway 101, the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Larkspur Ferry.

Mill Valley is well known as an attractive destination for homebuyers. While only about 14,000 people resided here as of 2019, there are several distinctive neighborhoods with plenty to offer locals. Some of the most popular include Strawberry, Alta Vista-Boyle Park, and Scott Valley. Each neighborhood offers unique homes and is highly walkable to other parts of the community, including the excellent schools within the Mill Valley School District.

Despite being known as a suburban, commuter neighborhood, there are many interesting things to do in Mill Valley, including countless trails for hiking and biking. And every June, Mill Valley hosts the Dipsea Race — the oldest trail running event in the United States, founded in 1905. There are plenty of boutiques and specialty shops, such as the Depot Bookstore and Cafe and the family-owned Mill Valley Market. Local entertainment venues also include 142 Throckmorton Theater, the Sweetwater Music Hall, and the Marin Theater Company. You’ll surely feel like part of the community as soon as you move into your new Mill Valley home.
